Guest Speaker – Kate Lander

Kates business career has spanned 30 years within the finance and education sectors – and includes everything from being an accountant, to running a sales desk and being a CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, and Non-Executive Director. Passionate about the execution of strategy, leadership, business development, risk management, investment management, and the education sector.

Kate has also spent 30 years combining her passion for business and sport – and passionately believes that however different they may look on the outside, those 2 parts of her life are deeply intertwined and extremely complementary. Brought up on tennis and hockey, she took up golf around 20 years ago and has been hooked ever since, joining St George’s Hill Golf Club in Weybridge in 2009, where she also sits as a NED on the Board.

Nicky Lawrenson – PGA Fellow Professional & WIGB Founder

Nicky Lawrenson embarked upon her professional career following several years of competitive golf and in 2001 attained her PGA Diploma gaining 3rd position within Great Britain and Ireland. She furthered her coaching career at The Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, where she gained invaluable experience as Senior Academy Instructor at the Peter Cowen Golf Academy. Following on from Dubai, Nicky moved to Spain as Academy Director of Roda Golf & Beach Resort and since returning to the U.K, continued with her coaching and became the Director of Golf at Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort.

With over 20 years coaching experience expanding across several continents, Nicky has also pursued her passion within the field of performance mindset and is a certified Master NLP Practitioner. Her passion within this area also led her to study various concepts within human performance.

In 2011 Nicky was awarded Fellow status within the Professional Golfers Association. With a coaching philosophy that bases itself upon a holistic approach, Nicky endeavours to develop each individuals golfing needs in an enjoyable, relaxed and simplified manner.

Throughout her career she has also gained great experience within various corporate environments and noticed that a familiar pattern arose whilst working within this arena in that female participants were in the minority. A great passion grew within Nicky to ensure that businesswomen could fully embrace and capitalise on the professional, personal and wellbeing benefits these environments and the game as a whole can bring. From here, ‘Women in Golf & Business’ was born.

Guest Speaker – Rachel Bell

Rachel Bell is an Architect, and Director of Partnerships at Stride Treglown.

Beyond her day job, Rachel supports numerous initiatives encouraging a more inclusive construction industry for the future. She is a mentor through the Mentoring Circle and a director for Women in Property limited.

As an industry role model, Rachel has won many awards and accolades for her contributions. In 2018-19, she was named a UK Construction Week Role Model, Property Week RESI Trailblazer, Insider SW Property Personality of the Year 2018, Insider SW Diversity champion of the year 2021, SW Mentor of the Year and was twice a finalist in the European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards. Rachel now connects more widely through other industries with her interest in travelling for a purpose and empowering women. In Spring 2023 Rachel led a Women’s Partnership Challenge trip to Malawi and is returning in 2024.

Guest Speaker – Jude Mackenzie

Jude Mackenzie has had a 40-year career in settings including 10 Downing Street, the NHS and major charities.  A communications director by profession, she has been on many boards and is the author of Mackenzie on Managing Communications published by Indie Books.

Jude led the biggest ever public rebrand project, delivering the rebranding of the NHS.

Asked to join Alastair Campbell’s team at Downing Street to advise on communications strategies for health, crime, education and transport, Jude changed practice for the Prime Minister to deliver challenging public sector reform agenda.

She has played golf since her teens, and is now on the boards of Kent Golf and Sundridge Park Golf Club and is Women in Golf Charter Champion for both. She is also a mentor for the R&A’s Women in Leadership programme.

Sarah is an executive coach and leadership development consultant with over 25 years of experience in the tech and telecoms industry. Before starting her coaching business BORDERLESS, she served as a Vice President at Virgin Media and Liberty Global, where she gained a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing leaders today. She uses her extensive business experience and coaching skills to help leaders develop greater self-awareness, empathy and resilience.

Sarah’s coaching style is collaborative and results-oriented. She works with leaders to identify their strengths and weaknesses, set clear goals, and develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed. As a certified behavioural consultant and emotional intelligence coach, she helps leaders to understand themselves and others better, build stronger relationships, improve communication skills and make better decisions.

As well as being the founding member of BORDERLESS, Sarah is the Mentoring Chair for WICT UK & Ireland and takes time as a volunteer mentor for small businesses for the UK Government’s Help To Grow leadership programme.

Sarah lives with her two daughters in North Hampshire and loves walking in the countryside. She took up golf in 2021 and plays whenever she can.
